Jazz: Tyreek McDole
Please join us in the West Room for the first Jazz night of the 2025 calendar year!
If you’ve been to Jazz at Nine Orchard before, you may have caught Tyreek McDole when he’s sat in as a guest vocalist, including during our first Jazz night back in 2022. Since then, he has become a welcome fixture on the New York Jazz scene as both a musician and an advocate.
McDole, a 24-year-old Haitian-American vocalist from sunny Florida, shines brilliantly as his star rises in the bustling New York jazz scene. With a string of prestigious awards to his name—including first place in the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition—he is recognized as one of the most anticipated talents in jazz. His achievement places him in elite company, as he is only the second man to win the competition in its 12-year history.
During Jazz at Lincoln Center's acclaimed 2018 Essentially Ellington National Competition, Tyreek made his vocal debut, winning the prestigious Outstanding Vocalist Award, and he has shared the stage with an impressive roster of musicians, including Theo Croker, NEA Jazz Master Gary Bartz, Miki Yamanaka, Mike King, Rodney Whitaker, Winard Harper, Marcus Printup, Eric Reed, Carl Allen, Victor Goines, and many others.
