Stanley Kubrick made thirteen daring, timeless features (and three shorts) over nearly half a century, leaving even the most sophisticated imagemakers speechless. In recognition of his extraordinary body of work: Criterion, Turner Classic Movies and Nine Orchard Presents invite you to a celebration of Kubrick, with a conversation featuring those that worked with him closely and studied his every move.

Much of the thinking and formal innovation that underlies his work finds expression in his filmography — now collected for the first time by Criterion in The Complete Kubrick box set, and explored this fall in TCM's acclaimed podcast The Plot Thickens. Co-produced with Criterion, the new season, Stanley, premieres September 24 with new episodes every Thursday, and features a never-before-heard interview with the filmmaker.

FIRST: THE CONVERSATION

Join us in the West Room to explore Kubrick's cinema, his approach to filmmaking, and his influence on the artists and filmmakers who followed him. Guests include Matthew Modine and Vincent D’Onofrio (Full Metal Jacket), Lisa Leone (Second-unit Director, Eyes Wide Shut), Josh Safdie (Director, Marty Supreme, Uncut Gems), and Katharina Kubrick (Artist and filmmaker's daughter). Tickets include a welcome cocktail and passed hors d'oeuvres (6:45-7:45pm) before the conversation.

AFTER: THE PARTY

The password is FIDELIO to our come-as-your-favorite-Kubrick-character costume party in the Greenhouse, on the rooftop of Nine Orchard. Tickets include passed hors d'oeuvres from 9-10:30pm. Grab your bowler hats & Venetian masks — and get your Halloween on early, with music and sound by Dean Hurley (Film sound designer, Inland Empire, Twin Peaks: The Return). Costumes are encouraged!
